Waltham Forest Diving Club
Waltham Forest Diving Club (WFDC) is a volunteer run sports club that aims to teach basic to advanced diving skills in a safe and enjoyable environment.
We are a highly inclusive 'not for profit' club that makes every effort to keep our fees as low as possible to enable as many people as possible to participate in the sport.
WFDC offer hour long training sessions at Walthamstow Pool and Track, Chingford Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 5AA. See the GLL website for Pool & Track. These are available on Tuesdays from 5pm and 6pm and also on Thursdays from 6pm and 7pm.
Dry-land training is also offered on Wednesday nights from 6pm and 7pm at Kelmscot Leisure Centre. See the GLL website for Kelmscot Leisure Centre. This helps to improve the diver's posture and technique.
All LBWF coaches have been Criminal Records Bureau checked and are registered with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA).
WFDC is now Swim 21 accreditated which is necessary due to our affiliation to the Amateur Swimming Association. We are currently building, or reviewing the documentation that we have to have.
WFDC is managed on a voluntary basis by a small number of people donating their time and effort to coaching, admin and governance. Keeping the club running is a big task and we all have day jobs and family to deal with too.
To assist us we do respectfully ask that parents / carers ensure that their child's fees are paid on time. A lot of time consuming and unfortunately sometimes rather dull work is needed just to keep the club running. Those of us giving our time would much rather that our limited energies are directed towards actively improving the club's status than chasing late fees.
We are always extremely grateful to receive offers of help from parents /carers. Please speak to any coach or club official if you feel you are able to offer some time to help the club run both its day to day operations and our scheduled competition events.
