Waltham Forest Diving Club
Improved fee payment method:
Waltham Forest Diving Club has not changed its fees for a couple of years, and unfortunately as we all know all too well everything else has increased. We have been advised that our fees are some of, if not the cheapest in London. Diving and our dryland training are both very inexpensive sports when compared to others that our children take part in. Swimming lessons for example per hour are far more expensive than our sessions, and we try and have other events during the year – not restricted to diving.
Also we have over the last couple of years, had various complaints from parents and guardians of our members, as to the time periods that we cover. It can be difficult to remember when fees are due, when we charge bi-monthly – which is unlike any other sport. The committee has therefore taken on board this criticism, and has decided that the fees will now be payable in conjunction with the school terms, like most other pastimes and sports.
Also, upon review, we have noticed that the first sessions of a new period are often less busy, and then following further investigation divers seem to leave, without advising the club. This means that we have a shortfall of both divers and fees, until we can get new divers into the club, from our waiting list. Most swimming lessons and clubs expect fees paid before the start of the new period, to stop this occurring.
Given the three observations above we have decided on the following changes, which were delegated to the committee by the Annual General Meeting in March of this year:
The actual small increase in fees per session is to off-set the long overdue increase in coaches expenses.
Fees for the autumn term (beginning September 2008) are now due.
Membership of the club is not included in these fees - and must be paid seperately. For details of membership click here.
